Programme Reviewer - Melu

Yesterday (07 November) Tenis Pro featured an interview with Chucho Acasuso, interesting but not as funny as the others. And then the camera trip section showed Mariano, Hood, Calleri and Chelita (who stole the whole show!!!) immitating a tv diva's show from here. Then Mariano and Hood tried on some austrian hats with the Heidi music on the background. And the most funny part was when Mariano was checking his emails on a comp in the players lounge and he said "Zero mails". Juani replied: "what did you expected? You are now out of the top50. When you go out of the top 50, not even a parrot will write you". It was funny.

I forgot to report a bit of what happened in M's show last week. I wasn´t able to watch it cause here it was Mother's day but I saw the last minutes.

The interview was with Pao Suarez. Mariano ask her to name a hybrid of the perfect man with tennis players, she chose: Arazi's butt, Blake's face and I don't remember whose legs. She mentioned Mariano as the player with the best personality.

The trip camera was the funniest thing so far in that show. The images were in a plane flying. Mariano and Gaston started to mock the TV show here known as Expedicion Robinson (Survivor in USA). Mariano was sitting next to GG but he was talking to the camera explaining his reasons why Gaston had to leave the island, and so did Gaston...very funny. He even cried when he voted. Too bad I wasn't able to watch the whole thing.

Programme 3 - Review by Ma

Hola!

I saw the show yesterday (not entirely, i must admit, i remembered about the show 10 mins late ). The interview with Cañas was very good, and was a great idea broadcast it the same day Cañas won in Shanghai (Awesome match! )

I don't have pretty much to add to the MTF people review, the show in general is very good and it's so nice to see the "behind the scene" of the tennis players in a different view than the pretentious other tennis tv specials, that just focus in the glamour of the tennis lifestyle. In this show you see the guys being just like everybody else, so far from the "tennis hero" thing and that is what i like most, it's so natural and funny and nice (specially Mariano, Guga & co... they must be the funniest guys in the ATP!)

And about Mariano, i see a progress, looking back to the first show, he's loosing and showing his hosting talent through the shows, really making it very well.

Besos, Ma.

Programme 2 - Review by Melu

Second MZ show

Today in TenisPro Mariano did an interview with Chelita. Both were very relaxed. I think Mariano will get better with time in his hosting position. They showed a video of Chela and his trainer riding an elephant, hahahha.

They showed backstage images of Gaston-Juan-Mariano-Saretta-Sa- Guga in Sao Paulo. Mariano retelling how a ball hitted by Chela ended up in the head of a lady who was watching his match. Very funny.

Sa was pulling Mariano's leg cause he was very popular among females fans in Brazil.

The cutest part of it was a section devoted to baby tennis here in Buenos Aires. They showed 3 yo kids hitting the ball with raquets that were twice their size.

That's pretty much all. Next week the interview will be with Cañas.

Hope I did not miss anything again...

Cheers!

Melu

Programme 1 had an interview with Gaston - here are Melu and Mercede's reviews.

Mercedes

Hi girls! the show was good... very relaxed and with that new esthetics, short scenes very fast... Mariano was ok, for sure he will improve in next shows, but he approved the first episode...

Melu

The show was good, in an informal way and funny one too. Mariano will get loose a bit more as the weeks pass by, he has the personality to host a show in my opinion.

The GG interview was very funny cause Mariano asked a question but he was the one answering as well, hahahha. So Gaston didn't know what else to add. Both were really tempted and laughed on every single q.

Mariano asked him about his hopes of becoming nº1 some day, and Gaston answered : "Honestly speaking? The one thing I can do with Federer & Rodthingy right on top is to play truco". Another funny moment was when Mariano asked what did he wanted to do in Bs As (being with his family, going out for dinner, spending time with friends, play golf?) and GG looked at him and said: Well, Bolu... you answered everything yourself, what do you want me to say.

Mariano asked him if he played football and Gaston said that among friends once in while they did. Mariano remarked that GG was bad at it...very funny. They showed how they both played fifa video games of course!

Oh...and Mariano really loves his green t-shirts!

At the very end, they show all the mistakes/ bloopers Mariano made between shots. But the cherry of the top was Chelita singing in the bathroom and in a bus in Athens...priceless.

I hope I didn't forget anything!

Melu.

Mercedes heard a Radio Interview - 22 September 2004.

I've just listened a radio interview with Mariano about his TV Show. He said:

- "I am doing this TV show just for fun. My main activity is tennis, and I think I will be playing for 4 or 5 years more in a good level, well my level, hehehe"

- "I was chosen for hosting this show because the producers though I have a good relationship with everybody in the circuit and because I'm a shameless person. (I think I heard that the program was produced by a spanish company, but I'm not sure)"

- "At first I felt embarrased doing the show. But when I watched the final product, the show edited, I liked it"

- "This activity doesn't take time from my training. For example, today I trained from 9 am to 11:30 and now I will make an interview for 1 hour and a half. (he was going to interview Agustín Calleri, and they were in Vilas' club)"

- "When I was in Brazil for an exhibition tournament, I made an interview to Guga"

Well, that is all... So, don't worry... Mariano is not leaving tennis by now...

Thanks for the reviews Melu and Mercedes!!!

Official ATP Report

ESPNDeportes - Roland Garros Article

Zabaleta looking for revenge against Coria

By Pritha Sarkar

PARIS, May 30 (Reuters) - They are good friends and are already proud owners of Roland Garros silverware, but there will be no love lost between Mariano Zabaleta and Guillermo Coria when they meet in the fourth round of the French Open.

The two Argentines have both won the junior title here, Zabaleta in 1995 and Coria in 1999, and are now gunning for the biggest prize in claycourt tennis.

Although Zabaleta took Coria under his wing when the 21-year-old took his first tentative steps on the ATP Tour, he will not be handing out any favours on Sunday.

"I lost to him the last time we played in Buenos Aires so I want revenge," said Zabaleta after his 6-2 6-4 3-6 7-6 win over Younes El Aynaoui on Friday.

"He's a very good player since he is number seven in the world. But I'm a very good player too.

"To be able to play your countryman at Roland Garros is something very exciting."

The pair were among four Argentines to make it through to the third round.
