Scoreboard

Pekano Open Challenger, Poland

Mariano's been busy this week qualifying for this tournament

Here is our support thread! - YOU are very welcome to post here too.

Mariano faces Tomas Zib in the first round

BCR Romania - official website - draw doubles draw

Mariano's latest stop for 2006 is Romania. His first round opponent is Stefan Koubek, who's left handed. He is currently ranked 123 - and has NOT got a protected ranking nor has (to the Webmistresses' knowledge) been fighting back from Injury for most of the season. Stefan Koubeck is a good friend of the sadly retired Armenian Sargis Sargisian and is also a fan of body piercing and interesting nose jewellery.

Good luck Mariano - he should not be a problem to you! (sorry Koubek fans :o) )

Mariano and Juan Monaco will be playing doubles against Michael Kohlman and Alexander Waske tomorrow!!

IF ANYONE IS GOING TO ROMANIA PLEASE LET US KNOW OF ANY NEWS!!!!!!!!!! - THANKS.

Its US Open time again!

Mariano has been drawn against Qualifier Thaigo Alves, the same guy who dared to beat Mariano on his return in Zagreb - hopefully this time Mariano will get his revenge and carry on to round two to face a possible Fernando Verdasco encounter.

Here is the draw Mariano can be found in section 3.

Mariano will be playing the last match on court 15 - so! if there is any of the gang in Flushing Meadow - please let us know any news!

Good Luck Mariano we are all behind you - and all the people that cannot make Court 15 tomorrow will be logged on to the scoreboards - as usual ;o)

This week is Stuttgart

Mariano def Alexander Waske in the first round.
Mariano defeats top seed Gaston Gaudio 6-4 6-0 in the second - WOW!

Luis Horna defeats Mariano in nearly three hours of breakpoints, matchpoints in the second set, tiebreaks and 6 match points in the very last game. 3- 6 7-6(6) 4-6 Congratulations on a great tournament - best of luck in Kitzbuhel!

There is a group of European Fans in Stuttgart to get Mariano through his matches :-) - he knows who they are and he knows they are there to support him too ;-) and he probably has a group of school kids cheering him on loudly too!

Here is the Mariano in Stuttgart Message board thread - scoreboard scores, news and pictures often appear here first (it is now 3 pages long!) - if you are in Stuttgart and want to add to this message thread - please join in!

GOOD LUCK MARIANO!

Hello again (another quick sweep - the spiders have not been back... yay!)

Mariano has remained in Europe since Roland Garros and has been spotted at various other tournaments, Dusseldorf, etc and by Media Reporters at the World Cup! - he also quickly showed his face in a challenger in Germany, but lost in 3 tight sets - this week (28 June) he is having much more luck in Reggio Emilia, Italy! - he is in the Quarter finals! - after having 2 straight set wins over an Italian WC with a really long name, and then today beating Andre Ghem! - it looks like the winning ways have finally returned! - keep up the good work!!!!

Hello everybody!!! - its time to sweep away the cobwebs (and for Marcus to remove the Spiders!!) as there is great news in Tennis World, Mariano is back!!!!!!!!!

Last week he broke his 7 month injury period by playing a Zagreb challenger - ok Alves ruined the party by beating him easily but hey! he's back and that's great!!! - I could not update this site during Zagreb as I was in Hamburg - which was great - it was so great to see everyone again - hugs to all my friends! - we all agreed the only thing wrong with Hamburg was there was NO Mariano - so that problem was soon sorted out when he arrived on Thursday!!!!

Mariano confirmed he will definitely be playing in Roland Garros Qualifying this week - and that he had come to Hamburg to train for it. He was training really hard... We saw him train twice a day for 2 hours each session, with nearly every single Argentine Player (still in Hamburg on Thursday) round him supporting him with his practice. He was hitting with Acasuso (and David Ferrer) on Friday too.

Mariano is back. We have told him to stay... he looked in great spirits, here's hoping the rest of 2006 will be great for him!

If you can get to Paris Qualifying at all - get to his match - we will be there....

Good Luck Mariano!

Mariano will start off his 2006 campaign with his new Coach Guillermo Perez Roldan in Melbourne. The Draw for Melbourne comes out on Friday 13th - hopefully this will be very lucky for Mariano. The Draw will be here as soon as its published.

To Mariano.

Good luck for 2006 from everyone that comes here and everyone that watches you play all round the world, We enjoy meeting up with each other and supporting you - we look forward to many successful matches and memories this year.

You know we are right behind you, win lose or retire - here's hoping for lots of good times in 2006.

The Australian Open 2006

OK! - the draw was finally released at 1am British Time (yes I am one of those sad people......) and a miracle happened. Mariano's name was NOT drawn against R.Federer or A.Roddick or L.Hewitt or I.Ljubicic but Yeu Tzuoo Wang! - thank you Drawmaster! - (no offence to Yeu Tzuoo Wang of course...). This is a great opening round matchup.

The rest of the draw can be found Here

Mariano's first round match did not end how we would have all wanted it to. Wang took a 2 set lead quite quickly although there was an extremely tense game in the 2nd set that seemed to last for hours with many breakpoints and advantages and breakset points saved by Mariano - so this must prove he was there to fight it out - and then at 0-1 in the third the scoreboard froze.

The other scores were working perfectly, just this match was frozen so obviously we thought the worst. Scoreboard started again - but at 1-4 the Scoreboard read that Wang had won the match.

We still do not know what happened as the Press Reports were very fague and sketchy, the thought (hope) was cramping - this is a relief as it is not foot, thigh, knee :) but then someone else said they saw a report he was "still unwell" later in that evening, which was also alarming...

But he must be ok because ..... he's in the doubles draw with Carlos Moya!!!!!!! They play today 4th match on Court 19! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!

IF anyone who was at the match can tell us what really happened, we would really appreciate it.
